In my mind, the biggest risk we face is a grid down scenario, and light sources will matter, which is what makes this battery powered LED camping lantern such a good addition to your preps. I like how this lantern can totally light up a whole room, as if the power was on. That’s if I get to stay in my home, which I think is a likely but not guaranteed scenario. Being out in the wilderness in the elements makes this device even more useful. The wind will blow candles out obviously, and if you try to keep your candles in your survival tent you risk losing your tent to a fire. You can also bring your lantern with you into the darkness if you hear noises and need to check them out. The lantern will light up the dark sky much better than a flashlight could, although I am not discounting the need for a good flashlight at all.
