Emergency Tent

The thought of bugging out is intimidating, but doing so without any type of shelter is even more intimidating, which makes this emergency tent such a great addition to your preps. I know what you’re thinking. “I can’t fit a tent in my bug out bag!”. That’s a good observation, but wait until you see how compact this emergency tent is in its case. It’s amazing how well this item can fit in your bag while taking up practically no space at all.

A survival tent will protect you from the elements. It won’t do a whole lot as far as the temperature goes, but it will block any wind and keep you dry from rain or snow. Having a tent and a sleeping bag or emergency blanket will make all the difference when you are surviving in the wilderness or outdoors in general. When you think about the alternative, having a tent becomes a no brainer.

Here is a good compact, easy to bring along survival tent that we found that you should definitely check out:

The Best Place To Use Your Emergency Tent

Hopefully you have strategically selected more than one bug out location that you can seek refuge in if you have to get up and go.  These locations should be in the midst of trees and nature, and in a location that you feel safe and secure in. You should be somewhere secluded, where hordes of the desperate masses won’t see you or detect your presence. Somewhere that you can set up camp and have your tent and a campfire to stay warm at night.

If you have selected your bug out location well, you could potentially stash a tent away at your site. This comes with risk though. Someone might find and take your tent. There’s also the possibility that someone will find it and know that you will be there if things take a turn for the worse. Having this emergency tent, which can collapse into a small pouch that will fit nicely in your bug out bag is a better decision in my humble opinion.

What Bugging Out Is Like Without A Tent

If you don’t have a tent or some type of enclosure and you are out in the elements, things can get rough. If the wind is whipping there will be nothing to block that, and if it starts raining on you when you’re trying to get some desperately needed sleep at night, well that just sucks! You’ll also potentially have insects crawling all over you and flies and insects buzzing around. Why go through all this when you can have an emergency tent in your preps for a few dollars?

Hopefully you’ll never need to use your emergency tent. There’s a good chance you won’t also. The likelihood that you’ll be able to hunker down at home until things resume to normal is high. What if you have to leave due to an emergency though? If you have to go with plan B, not having some form of shelter will make things much more difficult for you. When you consider the cost and how easily you can transport it with you, not having an emergency survival tent doesn’t really make a lot of sense.
