Essential Oils For Preppers

Many of you might not have considered it, but having a few different essential oils can be very useful during a SHTF scenario. There are conditions that can come up out of nowhere that will put you at a great disadvantage when you’re trying to survive. Ailments can be painful and mind jarring and that takes away from your focus and determination when you need it most.

You might have never used essential oils before. You might be a guy and think essential oils are a “chick thing”. That’s all well and good, but you’d be short changing yourself if you didn’t become aware of their benefits and how they can help you in a time of survival.

One advantage you’ll find with essential oils is that they are very compact and come in very small containers. This will take up next to no space in a bug out bag, and that is helpful when space is limited and you want to get as much in your bag as you can.

Getting a painful toothache would be a huge inconvenience to you when you are trying to survive. It is bad enough during normal times, but when adrenaline and cortisol are high and it is a struggle to survive the last thing you need is excruciating pain in your jaw. Clove oil is just about the best remedy for painful tooth issues. Most over the counter toothache medicine has clove oil as its primary ingredient.

Thieves oil is just about the best germ fighter there is, and you’ll want to ensure that germs, viruses and bacteria aren’t posing a threat to you when you are struggling to survive. Mixing a few drops of thieves oil into coconut oil will make it very easy to apply to your skin, and the antiviral and antimicrobial benefits can be easily obtained.

Tea tree oil is another essential oil that is great for antibacterial and anti-fungal uses.

Getting a chest cold would be less than ideal during a time of survival, and eucalyptus oil is one of the best remedies for such a situation. Breathing issues caused by mucus or phlegm can be easily remedied with eucalyptus oil.
