Are knives a good way for a prepper to defend their home? We honestly don’t think so, and you probably don’t either. While a knife is better than nothing, there are far better options you should have at your disposal. With a knife, you have to commit to actually plunging it into someone, and that is quite a commitment. Most people would be far less hesitant to shoot someone with a taser gun or stun gun. You also have the danger of the perpetrator taking your knife away from you.
Since you hope is to only make a statement with your weapon while not having to use it, a pistol or shotgun will scare someone a lot more than a knife will. While a gun is going to make the loudest statement, even a machete or a sword would scare someone a lot more than a knife would.
What Use Do Knives Have For A Prepper
The number of potential uses for a good knife are almost endless. Especially if you need to leave your home because of an emergency. You’ll need a good knife for all kinds of things if you retreat to your bug out location. There could be several uses for it while you hunker down in your home too. I guess you could say everyone needs a good knife sometimes.
