When considering putting together an arsenal of weapons, many people forget to include mace and pepper spray in their preps. That’s too bad, because mace and pepper spray can be extremely effective at subduing a potential invader to your home. It can also be used on animals that appear to be ready to attack you. Once we were hunting wild hogs in the woods on a trip to Texas, and a hunting friend of mine came face to face with a wild hog that looked mean and looked like it was about to charge him. What a stroke of luck that my friend had his pepper spray on him. He closed and covered his eyes and sprayed and the sound that wild hog made left no doubt it was in excruciating pain. I’m sure the pain persisted for about 20 minutes, but after that he would have been just fine. This action saved my friend’s life. He probably didn’t have time to discharge his firearm which was slung over his back on a strap.
