One tool I am really excited to have added to my preps is my pocket chainsaw. Mine won’t be going in my pocket, it will be going in my bug out bag, but wow is it cool. My bug out locations I have preselected for myself all have an abundance of trees, and with this trusty compact tool I can saw off branches or a whole tree if I see fit.

Compact In Size, Yet Does The Job
A regular chainsaw is not something you could easily bring with you when you have to get up and go. Neither is a hacksaw, a coping saw, a keyhole saw or a crosscut saw. These tools are all pretty large in size, not to mention sharp and hard to conceal when you have your bug out bag on your back and you’re stealthy trying to race to your bug out location. Even if the sheer size of a chainsaw wasn’t an issue, they run on gasoline, and for most people when the small tank runs dry it becomes a pretty useless object. Then again, if you have a siphon for fuel and know where some abandoned vehicles are, that doesn’t have to be the case.
This (compact tool) is perfect to bring with me if I have to bug out due to an emergency. I plan on having other tools stashed away securely at my bug out location, but none of them resemble what a pocket chainsaw can do. The power is manual, but it is also efficient and can achieve the end result that any traditional chainsaw can do, it just might take a little more time.
My Experience With A Pocket Chainsaw
I tried using mine by myself and while it was doable, with two people the motion of sawing became an absolute breeze. Obtaining firewood and other wood you might need when you set up camp has just become much easier. One additional thing that I like about this item is how relatively safe it is. A traditional chainsaw is a very dangerous tool that has always made me very nervous to use. One bad slip up and things could get bloody and potentially life threatening. No such worries with this compact chainsaw that could fit in your pocket.
I was able to effectively obtain the firewood we needed on our last camping trip with this tool. Would it have been easier to use a traditional chainsaw? Sure. Would it have given me more peace of mind to use a traditional chainsaw? Absolutely not! Those things terrify me! All kidding aside, we think this tool will be of great use to you if you need it. We can’t recommend this pocket chainsaw enough to anyone interested in prepping.
