Solar Generator

In a grid down scenario, having a solar generator could potentially be the biggest game changer out of all of your preps. A solar generator can provide you with electricity when there isn’t any, and for a much more affordable price than installing solar panels or a solar power generation system. Better still, the whole neighborhood won’t know you have a solar generator the way they would if you had large conspicuous solar panels mounted to your roof.

You can run your solar generator without the need for any fossil fuels that a traditional generator would need, and that is a huge plus because oil and gas will likely be difficult to procure during such turbulent times. In a grid down scenario, gas station pumps won’t be working and gas stations will be closed. Even if that weren’t the case, you don’t want to be going out in public to fill your gas can when it’s pandemonium on the streets. The sun can provide you with what you need, and for free on top of it.

Solar generators are generally plug and play and there won’t be a steep learning curve for their use. This is helpful, especially if your first time use is when you really need to use it. You can also expand your system, so that the whole cost doesn’t necessarily need to be upfront. If you take your system up to 21KW, you could run the electricity in your house for 5-7 days easily before recharging. Speaking of recharging, most systems appear to recharge fast, so this is never typically an issue with a solar generator.

Prior to the SHTF scenario, a solar powered generator can help you save considerable money on your monthly electric bills. You can switch over to your solar generator during what are referred to as “peak hours”, when the cost of electricity is the greatest. Just doing this easy switch over can save you a considerable amount of money.  Money you could be using to procure other supplies for your prepping needs.
