When we start prepping, water soon becomes the most pressing consideration, and these stackable water containers are a great solution for this issue. According to what they say, you can survive 3 weeks without food and only 3 days without water. I’d hate to go 3 whole weeks without eating anything, but I’ll take their word on that. When you realize that you need water every day and what that entails as far as your preps go, it becomes a serious consideration. These stackable water containers are the best solution I’ve found thus far.
When I first started prepping for survival, I initially thought I would save every 1 gallon plastic milk and water container from the grocery store. Then I would fill them with tap water and filter them when I needed them. Well, those 1 gallon containers take up more space that I envisioned initially! Pretty soon half of my basement floor was covered with 1 gallon containers, and they didn’t stack well when full either. I knew I had to find a different way.
Why These Stackable Water Containers Really Help
These 5 gallon containers are awesome. They stack so well that you could have your entire water supply for home stocked away in a utility closet, with enough room that you could stack other things on top of them! If you’re lucky to have a basement, this becomes a no brainer. This has freed up a lot of space for me, and that alone made the purchase worth it.
With these containers you can have an abundance of water that you can rely on if the taps are not working. That is one less thing you will have to leave your home for, and you want to avoid leaving your home in every possible situation. Walking back home with 2 or 3 one gallon containers of water that you probably had to walk several miles to retrieve will be a vulnerable position to be in when the SHTF. Who knows what desperate zombies are capable of when you have something they need and there is no other way to get it besides taking it from you by force. Most people can’t envision people behaving this way over something as typically abundant as water. They’ve never experienced the misery of dehydration though.
How These Water Containers Prevent Disaster
Not having potable, drinkable water you can rely on to hydrate yourself with is a much worse situation than it sounds like. The effects of dehydration are so horrifying that they make going hungry look manageable. The thought of what others will undoubtedly go through makes me cringe, and I am not going to allow something of this magnitude to happen to me and my loved ones if it can easily be avoided.
I feel that these water containers are the answer for me. I will still be needing a means to filter my water, but with this method of water storage I don’t have to worry about leaving my home to procure water to filter. That is a real advantage to strategic survival. Barricading the door and not opening it if you don’t have to. I can choose to draw from my water supply in these containers until it reaches a certain level, and then I can turn my attention to procuring water to filter if need be. I anticipate the first several days being most volatile, with the exception of the first 12 hours or so when people are mostly still fed and hydrated. Once things start getting desperate, I want to be hunkered down at home where it is most safe.
